You kind of answered your own question......you listed all the reasons why certain fish are expensive......rare, stunningly beautiful, demanding needs for food and water

Good question haha But it's those fish that keep you in the hobby in the hopes that you will one day be able to get one of them

Yes, rare and expensive fish that remain rare and expensive are that way for specific reasons. So yes, they are rare because not many can keep them alive because of basic reasons (I.E. Eating habits). So if you are up to a challenge, do what research you can, and give it a shot!

Good luck with your endeavour, I hope I'll get to see those fish.

May I inquire as to what fish you are referring to?
