New Homepage! - Frontpage Articles

You have probably already noticed our new homepage since we are going live as I write this. We have decided to give APC a much better look and feel than the old software was capable.

Our system (CrowdReport) is a seamless integration of Vbulletin and WordPress that allows us to share discussions in the same way that the old frontpage did, but it also gives us the opportunity to select any member created thread and publish it to the homepage. This way, the best content from the community is showcased in addition to the editorial provided by our tireless news team.

We may work on a complete redesign of the forum and frontpage, but for now I think we have made a major improvement!

Please feel free to voice your comments. I realize that forum members can be grumpy about change, but we are deploying this system across all of our forums and so far members have been very happy!

That's good news, Sanjay, but I still seem to see the old vbadvanced front page. Did you roll out the new one?

Hi Sanjay,

In the previous version, as soon as I logged in, I was able to view the newest posts since the last time I logged in. This was a wonderful way to view the latest posts and also some of the latest happenings. I'm not able to view this in any of the pages.

Is there a way to view this or am I missing something?

We also used to be able to see everyone that was online. Is there a different place we need to go now to do that?

We are adding a link on the frontpage nav-bar that will say New Posts, but you can get everything within the forum. Things like members online will be on the forum index only.

i for one love the change. it's always good to freshen things up a bit... don't want to stay stagnent. looks great... can't wait to see what, if any, changes are in store for the forum

I am with TexGal.....I would like to see who's on here like we used to. I know you can scroll down in the Forum thread, but I like convenience.

I am undecided about this look, but I'm sure it will grow on me in time. Sorry, I know you guys spent a lot of time doing this, but I can only offer a "lukewarm" response.
