Australia has some beauties!

http://www.aquagreen.pracsol.com.au/album.php

On page one there is a great photo of Caridina gracilirostris - a relative of the Amano shrimp - found around the Northern Territory.

Page five has some sweet photos of a couple of Pogostemon (Eusteralis) stellata variants.

Photos are by Dave Wilson, NT.

Thanks Locus! That's some really cool stuff. Thanks for sharing.

For anyone who's curious, the genus names of the following are:

Page 1. A. baccifera is Ammania baccifera
E. gratioloides is Elatine gratioloides
Page 5. S. leptocaulis is Staurogyne leptocaulis (near bottom) - family Acanthaceae (related to Hygrophila and Hemigraphis)

Do you know what B. latifolia and G. purpurescens are?

It's another variety of Pogostemon stellatus. I've not seen that one around.

Heres a pic of my all native tank. Forgive the fish of course, the wife wont let me get rid of them..Im hoping one day the discus and angels will die and I can replace them with rainbows, Blue eyes etc.
Ive gradually accumulated enough Aus natives to fill this 5' x 2' tank.
Ive got two types of stellatus and 4 species of native Aponogetum. About 4 species of native val including a really interesting branching type. Two species of glosso are growing at the front. And a few other stem plants that I havent been able to id yet.
Ive got a very small piece of Rotalla mexicana that im hoping will take off.

Mike
