I am still struggling with algae problems, although It seems to be subsiding. My problem is not being able to get a handle on my fertilization. I am using Sera Flourish But not as much as is called for on the bottle. I am afraid to dose at that recommend level. ( 5M/L per 5 gallons) I have reduced the light to just over 2 wgp from over 4 wgp and the time to 11 hrs per day. I am dosing 10 m/l of excel per day.
The tank is a 72 gallon.
My iron tests at about .08-.1 ppm
Phosphate at .03-.05 ppm.
Nitrate was 10ppm but now is reading 5 ppm.
Potassium unknown. I have not found a test kit for Potassium.
I am going by the recommendation at this web site http://www.aquatic-plants.org/fert/e...st_index1.html
I have not added CO2 as of yet but will be in the future.
After I understand how to prevent PH swings at night.
Thanks for any help.
