I always thought this was one of the "easy" plants, but I've never had good luck with it. All the L. repens I've ever had ends up with ratty leaves that constantly come off the plant. The stems also fall apart after awhile. I have no problems with other plants like glosso, etc., but the L. repens just always looks bad.

I have it in my 10-gallon tank with 3.6wpg and pressurized CO2, as well as my 5-gallon with 3.6wpg and it looks unhealthy in both tanks.

Does anyone know what the problem may be? All my other plants are healthy and thriving... lots of pearling going on in my 10-gallon.

I don't have any suggestions, but I can offer a little sympathy. I have had the same thing happen to mine on a number of occasions. I have found it to be very sensitive to handling.

I know that they need regular doses of ferts & root tabs. They also like cooler temps then some other plants. A few leaves fall off mine now then also.

Don't buy...Adopt a homeless dog or cat from your local shelter or rescue group.

It may be a magnesium deficiency. I found L. repens to be sensitive to high Ca:Mg ratio. The addition of MgSO4 solved the problem with old leaves.

My repens grow great at 80', so I doubt it's a temp problem.
