Hello all,
I have been a stranger to the website lately, as my work picked up and allowed very little time in the evenings to chat. I am writing for suggestions on good/ecellent aquatic plant literature. I have obtained and read the Walstad book and loved it. Whereas it catered alot to a particular method, are there any additional books out there that any of you would reccommend that are great for building knowledge on the science and daily husbandry required to maintain a successful planted tank and plant species? Thanks for your help!!!!!

Aquarium plants by Christel Kasselmann is considered one the best and most indepth.

The Aquatic Gardener, the quarterly journal of the Aquatic Gardeners Association is another excellent resource. It contains both backed scientific articles and practical aquascaping information. It's the only place in US publication that regularly has english translations of Amano's articles from AquaJournal and his other publications.

Two good books for the beginner are...

Plants for your Aquarium by Wolfgang Gula (more general worded/details )

and

Aquarium Plants Manual by Ines Scheurmann (more scientific worded/details)

These where my first books that I still reference on occasions.

Diana Walstads Ecology of the Planted Aquarium has some really great info as well.

Aquarium Plants Manual by Ines Scheurmann is probably the best "beginners" book on aquarium plants. Its cheap, easily available and very well written.
