This wasn't mentioned, but I felt like it should be mentioned too. |

They make that new drop checker with the two chambers one to hold the slution and one to hold a reference green solution so you can tell if its the proper green. IS this even neccessary or is the regular drop checker just fine? I dont have either so Im trying to figure out what I should get. |

I am using the red sea checker now and it works just fine. The trick is that if you can't tell if it is green or blue then you need more CO2. When the water is at 30ppm CO2 using the 4dKH solution that is explained on this forum it is bright beautiful green, no doubts. |

Plant Points: 600 | Re: Red Sea Drop Checker I use the Red Sea Drop Checker and had the same problem. Just wasn't sure where the green stopped and the yellow began. What I did was add an additional drop of the PH/CO2 solution and it helps. It's only when the green begins to transition to the yellow that it becomes unclear and by then, I know it's time to back it down a little. |

My browser is acting funky. If you can't see the pictures, they are at the following link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bromothymol_blue |
