Well, the mini type 2 that I have been growing emersed has finally grown emersed style leaves. The leaves are basially the same length as the aquatic version, but shiny and round. Just so people don't think it is trying to grow emersed.
Tex gal, didn't I buy my rotala mini 2 from you? I wonder if mine will start to morph like yours has.

Yes, I think you did get yours from me. Wonder what has made mine morph! What aquatic conditions has caused this. So interesting and weird.

I just found this thread. Wow, I wonder if that's similar to when a variegated privot (or any other variegated plant) reverts back to the parent form and starts sending out plain green shoots.

I've seen tons of examples of that in landscaping, but never before in aquatics.

To all, I have to make sure but when I was looking yesterday it looked like it has reverted to tiny leaves again. I will get a pic up today or tomorrow.

Here is my morp stem that is now morphing back. If you look to the left in the px you'll see that another stem is morphing big. Incredible. Wonder what is the catalyst?

Here is the pic. It's really crazy that from one node to another it changes so dramatically.

Beats me! Hard to believe it's a deficiency because why wouldn't the other stems experience the same thing. Who knows. It surely is interesting though! As I looked in my bunch of other R. mini type 2 to find the other morphing it wasn't there. The camera must have picked up a leaf from a plant behind it. I only have the one morphed stem.

JMonte - So your's is turning back too. Your stem almost doesn't even look like R. Mini but regular Rotala. Maybe it's the lense. I find it very odd that you have a morph at the same time I do and from the same stock. It has to have been something in the tank that triggered it. Maybe some extra ferts settling on that particular stem or something.
