Default Echinodorus tenellus

Recently I've noticed alot of E. tenellus 'micro' popping up on this forum (for sale). Is this different from Pygmy Chain Sword? I've noticed folks saying that 'micro' gets 5-6 inches. I thought E. tenellus was supposed to stay short, like 2-3". Can someone clarify for me?

E. tenellus is one of those plants whose height is very much affected by its environment. I've had it grow 10 inch leaves when it was crowded.

Under normal conditions it stays at 2 to 3 inches, for me.

Same here, I have alot that really does look "micro", but I have a mother plant in one tank that is hugh. It could easily be a background plant in a medium size tank.

I have been using Echinodorus tenellus as foreground plant and it has just started to reach the 2-3 inch in height. I really enjoy this as a small "grassy" foreground plant.

I've seen that, but if conditions change or if you transplant the tall plant, the long leaves will die and be replaced with short ones.
