Default What should I do with my tank?

Ok, im fairly happy with my tank, but ive always liked the idea of ground cover. What grass would work best in my tank. It has 260w of PC lighting, no C02 and seachem flourish every once and awhile. When i didnt have the lotus lily pads cover the top, I was getting alot of BBA on the plants because my bigger fish just eat whatever clean up crew i try to introduce. The lotus flowers every couple days with a brand new flower. If I cut back the floating lily pads will i loose the nice flowers?

It looks like you have burrowing fish. How would you be able to keep grasses planted? Wouldn't they just uproot them? I love your lotus blooms. They are beautiful! I've never had one flower because I keep them off the top of the water. I think that would be hard to give up.

You have such a cool predator tank. I can see how they would eat your clean up crew.

Those would be Indonesian Datnoids, there are 4 in there. They are very slow growers, but they get very large eventually, so keep that in mind when purchasing. Awesome fish though, with an awesome personality.

Thanks! Yes, that is one problem. The Spiny eels and the Chaca Chaca Catfish both burrow under the sand. How ever, the chaca stays under the crypt forest (which i have to replant every water change) and the eels are strong enough to move rooted plants. So I was thinnking about a ground cover plant on the right side of the tank near the rock work and driftwood!

Here are some pics for anybody who doesnt wanna watch the vid, sorry i have no full tank shots. ill work on that:
Lotus

Angels

Chaca Chaca with spine sticking out of sand and spiny eel head poking out from under him

Wolffish and Dats

Catfish

That poor fish in that little tank! They must have an airstone in there or he would suffocate! I see how they have the top clamped down so he can't jump out. I feel sorry for him. Maybe he's dinner... who knows.

Love your pxs! Thanks for posting them!

Thanks, and yes that is just a holding tank for their dinner. However, im sure they dont know that a Datnoid that size would probably sell for around $2k+ here haha

Lotus? what species? Could it be a water lilly? I have never considered growing a lotus (except the small bulbs that are sold as fish tank plants) because the normally grow too large for any tank. A good tuber may be 12 inches long.

It is a Red Tiger Lotus, a specied of water lilly I believe. When you dont let any leaves reach the surface to form lilly pads, it will stay under the water and have red spear like leaves. They do sell them in bulbs. You can see the red leaves in the background of the Angelfish pictures, that is the exact same plant.

I love the color of your lotus, mine was fuschia colored instead of white when I let it bloom, it did real well in my 100 gal. I sure miss it.
