I got this plant as an emersed specimen from Aaron T. about three or four months ago. It has adapted to submerged life rather nicely and has been putting up new leaves every couple of weeks. So far it is well behaved and it isn't the monster that my Lagenandra meeboldii has become. It seems to be an ideal mid-ground species:
In my 180g tank it fills the role of a mid-ground species nicely:
It is kept under 1 wpg of T-5 light with 2.5 wpg of supplemental metal halide for 4 hrs per day. I keep CO2 pretty high with a measured KH of 3 and a pH between 5.7 and 5.8. GH is 5. I'm currently using reconstitued RO with Tropica micros and dry macros.
Don't pay any attention to the BGA in the tank! That's a new development and hopefully I'm working towards getting it under control. The other plants aren't looking superb either. The tank was recently neglected a bit. Hopefully in a month or so it will be back to "normal".
