Default Floating Plants

What would be some good floating plants? My water lettuce keeps getting pushed under by the filter output and as a result, the leaves have gotten very small due to the bigger leaves decaying quickly.

I'm not sure what to do with them except get floating plants that aren't as sensitive to water...

Recommendations?

i recommend you raise your water level so there isn't a water fall from your filter. it should just come right up to the output and this will keep the surface calm and circulate your floaters without pushing them under
you could try frogbit... the leaves are water proof

You could also try some hornwort. It develops no roots, but you could anchor it down between rocks or whatever, and have it grow up.

Water Lettuce is better outdoors, in a pond. It does not like water on the leaves.
Frogbit, or (if it is legal where you are) Salvinia (any of several species) and Phylanthus (Red Root Floater)are better for aquariums.

elodia? ceratopteris thalicthroides? duckweed? hornwort? ceratopteris pteridoides? cabomba? ludwigia sedoides? phyllanthus fluitans? salvinia natans?

but in the end, it comes to your own decision. what purpose do you want the floating plant to serve. i'm keeping some duckweed in my 3 ft tank to balance the nutrient absorption and as well as a treat for my red eye tetra. haha
