I have some rotala green and rotala green narrow leaf growing in my doaqua cube, and lately I've noticed that a few stems growing at the front are a lot smaller than all the other 'green' growing in the tank. They don't seem to be stunting.

For that plant, individual stems/leaves are around the width of stems and leaves of Rotala nanjenshan, except that it only has 2 leaves per section. It's not red or lighter colored at the top. The stem is entirely green. I also have Rotala. mini type 2, Rotala sp. bangladesh, Rotala mexicana araguaia, Rotala sp. goias growing in the tank, but it doesn't look like any of them. It's slow growing compared to everything else. Is there any rotala that fits the bill for this? Is there any good way of confirming which plant it is?

I have observed something similar with my Rotala sp. mini Type 2. Every now and then a stem of what I would describe as a typical rotala leaf stem starts growing from the same stem as the smaller leaves of the Type 2. I pinch it off and all is well.
