Default Fluval question

Hi all, getting ready to add material to tank. Fluval directions say I can not mix with gravel. I want to mix all my stuff together so I have enough substrate. Any help with this?

Holy smokes, after much reading, I feel like I am taking the State's exam, I am not mixing material. Would make no sense plus I would never discover what product was better. Doing eco-complete, non milky bags, all the way. That's right all 3 inches. Going to be hard to do because I am a mixer but so determined.

Just order fluval stratum for my 100G myself (very cheap deal, if you live in Europe and looking for fluval -> PM). Will be using it without mixing, but being a poor student before, I did mixed ADA Amazonia with regular gravel. Worked perfect and can't see why you can't mix fluval with gravel...

Love your tanks Yo-han. I live in Miami Florida but thanks anyway. I need to keep my plant design simple. I am caught between simple and the collector look. Thanks!

Me too, this is my collectors tank:

Rescaping it next month with fluval, loosing some of the more common plants, and all the fast growing plants to keep it a bit more managable.

But what would the problem of mixing gravel and aquasoil be?

This is perfect Yo-han. I want exactly the same thing. I don't want to make demands but what is the white substrate and the names of all the plants in the collector's tank? lol's
Why would you change your substrate Yo-han...looks great and the plants love it.
Oh, CO2 and light info if you don't mind?
Thanks,
Gary

I'll make a list of the plants when I'm at my computer (using my phone now). The white substrate is called 'zand' in dutch. Roughly translated to english it will be sand But it is only in the front of the tank. Its for my Corydoras sterbai, kuhlii's and pseudogastromyzons (I know, all not very smart in a planted tank, makes scaping a bit more chalanging I guess). Redoing my tank every half year and like to change substrate every year as well. Now it is kind of a collecters dutch nature crossover, will be transferred more to nature again (have been planted iwagumi before) and liked the fluval stratum because of the low ammonium release so hope to return my fish into the tank in one day...

Take your time Yo-han. Saw some fantastic looking substrate today in a 200 g tank set up. Just about sure what I am going to do. Funny how ideas change in a matter of hours.
Thanks,
Gary
