 Hello from Ames, IA
Just wanted to stop in and introduce myself. My name is Eric, I live in Ames, IA where I am a production operations tech at Sauer Danfoss. Where we manufacture hydraulic and hydrostatic pumps and motors for John Deer, CAT, Toro, Volvo, etc. I have been with the company a couple years now.
I am just getting back into live plants again. I have been successful in the past, but got away from it for a year or so. I am currently setting up a 38g tank in my bedroom to plant. Here is the specs for my equipment.
Lighting
36" Coralife Power Compact Fluorescent Fixture
2 96w 6700 K Tubes
Filtration
Eheim 2028 Professional Canister
Substrate
Bottom Layer is a thin layer of play sand
Mid layer is about 2 inches of Seachem's Flourite
Top Layer is about an inch of Pea Gravel just to keep the Flourite from moving around on me
Plants right now
Water Wisteria
A couple different Crypts
Dwarf Sag, soon to be replaced by some Pygmy Vallisneria for some ground cover
