Been messing around with aquariums for a very long time. I've currently got a 125g goldfish tank (living room), a 15g and two 10g guppy breeding tanks (garage). I started messing around with plants in the guppy tanks as cover for the little ones. I've manage to get a few things plants grow and a lot of staghorn algae. The algae works as great cover for the little ones although it is not the prettiest stuff
My wife has told me that she wants a corner pentagon tank in the family room with male guppies in it (40-60 gallon). As I'm getting the new hardwood floor put down in there this week, I thought I would start looking around for how to set up the flora.
I'm pretty new at aquatic plants but I've got 15 years experience and some graduate studies in plant science (mostly horticulture - I'll get my Ph.D. eventually....I swear...). I'm currently breeding
Cucumis melo for a vegetable seed company.
I'm hoping to learn enough to make a tank that will satisfy my wife's demands. As she is a wee bit picky it's going to have to be a work of art. Some people might call her a perfectionist but I never would. I'm a little bit scared of her.
I've been on Aquaria Central for a while now but it doesn't have enough info on plants which I why I'm over here.
Thanks,
THE V
