Well, the full story is, Im on several other message boards for fish/ aquariums, and on one that is also planted tank focused, I asked a question about what a Drop Checker was I saw in a photo of a tank, and was told to do a google search. So, I did that, and one of the things that came up was a link to a post on these boards! I poked around a bit, and decided to join! Seems like a great forum here. Im glad I did that search!

I was having a problem with my substrate Eco Complete and wanted to find out if anyone else was experiencing issues with rising pH and hardness. I plugged in a few key words and my search engine came here. I wasn't surprised to find that other people were having the same issue so I decided to join thinking this may save some problems in the future.

I've been doing aquariums on and off since the 60's but haven't had one up for almost 20 years. A lot has changed in that time.

Since I was installing a new office in my home I decide to include an aquarium in it. My plan is a South American biotype featuring Discus in a planted situation. Because of space limitations I have a 52 gal corner aquarium.

I guess my goal with this project is to just have some fun.

I knew about it from some time ago, when looking for plants species suited for hard water.
Then, these days, I looked for confirmation of some points I made on a forum here in Romania. And subscribed, since it is a fine source of information.
