Default Once upon a time at the riverbank 125Ltr

This is the start of the journal following me taking down 'Celestial Rapture'.

A quick recap of the Tech Specs:

125Ltr 80cm Fluval tank
Tetratec EX700 external Filter
Hydor ETH200 inline filter
Koralia1 circulation pump
Pressurised CO2 through glass diffuser
37W 5500K LED lighting 9 hours a day set to sunrise/sunset stagger.

Starting with the hardscape cleaned up from the previous setup:

Then we have the plants from the previous scape that I am taking into this scape:

And the substrate all tidied up:

First off I attached the Philippine Fern to it's 'mount' with.......

And then I attached the needles and Anubias to the main hardscape pieces. Next step was to put the wood into the tank:

Finally for this post, I added the cobbles/pebbles around the base of the wood ready to fill up:

Can't show you pictures of the finished planted setup yet because I cannot see into the tank. lol. I have a fluval3+ in there with carbon inside and filter wool to clear it up ASAP. This is on top of a 50% change 10 hours after initial setup.

Looks like it will be a very striking focal point! Any plans for a foreground plant? Can you tell me some specifics about your lighting set-up? And is it DIY or retail?

There are loads of Crypts to go in. foreground will be bare sand. Smallest plants near the front will be Crypt Parva.

The lighting is DIY and is 15 x 3W Luxeons 5500K underpowered so they are actually emitting 37W and not 45W

Very cool wood/fern combination. I'm looking forward to seeing some pics of it fully planted. I hope your water clears up quickly.

A few shots of the finished article. Far from clear still but you can at least see through it now. lol

The 25 Rasbora Espei are in there and look great but still to colour up fully.

Full frontal shot:

And a little closer in:

I'm pretty happy with it and can't wait for it to fill out

That's a very impressive start. It doesn't look like there's all that much filling in needed.

Hullo! I like how it's lookin' so far and eagerly await the updates as it fills in. Your lighting intrigues me as I am about to do a tank with LED's too. Where did you get yours and what is the wattage per LED? Total lumens? Also, I am curious as to the gph on the Koralia. I too have some of the R. espei and like how they school very tightly and the colors are awesome! Keep up the good work!

The LEDs are Luxeon 3W which are running at about 2.45W each. They came from the far east off ebay.

I take no notice of Lumens as that is what the eyes sees and nothing to do with lights/plants etc No idea on PAR either as I have no meter but the plants grow much much faster than the equivalent T5HO wattage.

The Koralia is 1500lph on this 125 and the Espei love to try and fight their way 'upstream'
