Pressurized is way worth it. Once you have your CO2 managed other things are so much easier. Orlando at Greenleafaquariums.com is great. He can help explain things to you.

Awesome, thanks all! I definately will be doing pressurized, but it'll have to wait until I can afford it. Unless someone knows where I can get everything I need (except maybe a reactor... I really like the little minifilters I'm using now) for like $100? Then maybe I could do it.

Well, after a hard couple of weeks, I did a little trimming. Here's my tank today. The water sprite could take over the world I think. I do still have some algae, but with 5 Otos, 5 SAE's, and 3 plecos... it's starting to go away, slowly. I had baby tears behind the right side driftwood, but I don't think they would ever grow enough to see, so I moved them. I put them in the middle. I also added a couple plants from another tank that had a massive algae bloom issue, slim everywhere. I've got it shut down for now until I have a better idea of how I want to set it up. So, here's what I've got today....

Any suggestions on forground?

Looks like your plants are going gang busters! Now you just need to work on tightening up your varieties so that they show up nicely!

Thank you! I don't know what "tightening up" means. How do I do it?

Oh, and GUESS WHAT!?!? I saw one of the Algea Eating Shrimp floating around today! That was the first I had seen one since I put them in. I thought they were eaten by something else. And, I saw a Black Skirt Tetra eat a ghost shrimp. It was weird.

Now, what you see here is a... well, I don't know what it's called, but it's supposed to be PINK. It's growing incredibly well, and fast. My Ludwigia Peruensis is a really nice burgundy color. Any suggestions?

I did get an iron test. I supplement with Flourish Iron, did that yesterday with the recommended amount. Tested today and had 0.1 ml. Dosed a whole bunch and tested again... now at 0.5 ml. Just right. I'll test after a day or two and see how fast my plants are using it up. Also... when I dosed today, I put in about five times the recommended amount!!

What I mean by tightening up your groups is to trim them and let them branch out. You need thicker clumps of each kind for them to really show off. It's the trimming that makes them branch out.

BTW I dose iron EVERY day. The plants suck it up. If that's didplis it really won't color up until it gets close to your light.

I talked to Orlando today... regulator is on order. Need to find CO2 cylinder now... more on the to-do list!

@TexGal - I think it is didplis! You're so smart! Thanks!
