So I double checked my numbers and here is what I had:

PH - 6.8
KH - 3
Ammonia - .25ppm
Nitrate - 0
Nitrites - ~20ppm

I'm thinking that due to my KH being slightly lower than I was expecting, perhaps my CO2 is not turned up enough....going to try and adjust it to 6.6 and see....

So the blue green algae and the green water are both no more......Everything seems to be growing slowly, but at least nothing is dying. Guess 1 month is not enough time. I think I am going to hold still one more month to see if I get more progress....would love any suggestions...

Thanks Niceseol. I really have no idea what I'm doing Here is this weeks photo...very little progress other than a bunch of small leaves coming up outta my java ferns (and off the existing leaves) and the Vals are picking up some. The Cobomba seems a little straggly. I think I will cut it this weekend and see what happens....maybe I just don't have enough light for it.

Well Its been a long time, but I moved in June. Here are 4 random pics at no regular intervals.

I ended up ditching the swords as they took over everything......wish I could get rid of the algae, but its not as bad as it could be I guess.

Nice: the progression to the last pic shows you're growing plants. If you can spare the $25 or whatever, try picking up some dry ferts from GLA/etc. Dosing a 40g breeder is pretty easy with a teaspoon set or $20 scale. I think it's your missing link.
