Default skittles, cream soda, and kfc 30g oceanic cube aquarium build.

heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee's BACK! who's back... I'm back, after tanking a break and trying saltwater, i'm back to planted tanks.... my skimmer motor went out, and i got hair algae and bubble algae in the tank, and corals started to die... I got them to the store for store credit... which let me to get substrate, new bulbs, some driftwood, a misc stuff... but any way on to the tank built...

oceanic 30g cube.... 20x18x21.

fish haven't decided yet but know I need to keep them small thinking harquin rasboras,
or some time of tetra.

plants... -- retella roudifolia, baby tears, micro sword, and anubias. plus what ever i get at the dfwapc meetings.

hard scape a nice single big piece of malaysia driftwood.

substrate - mix of seachem flourite red, seachem flourite black sand, eco complete, and black aquarium safe sand.(the stuff at pet smart).

heater 100w plen plex cascaude.

filter fluval 305 or eheim ecco 2236 have both. thinking I'll go with the 305. using what i got.

lighting wavepoint t5 h.o. 4bulb (96w) with coral-life 6,700k bulbs... would get a 20inch fixture but why buy something, when I have this to use? wouldn't make sense to buy a new light when i have this.

now on with the show! i mean photos.

Will you be supplementing with CO2 injection, or Excel, or existing organics in the substrate? That seems like a lot of light to go without any carbon source.

I like the name...I haven't eaten yet and I'm starving

Looks like a good start; keep us posted!

yep, I plan for c02 ones I find a regulator, that doesn't cost a arm and a leg... I was eating kfc and drinking a soda, then having skittles when i came up with the title..
I also use some subsrate out of another tank, that i kept wet and packed away.. i'm also going to use root tabs.

par at top of water jumped alot do to flow of water at top. it went from 306 - 529, up and down up and down, then slowed down to 240-406then slow stoped the flow of filter for a second and got 268.(high light) down at middle of tank par was 128-194 and slowed down and stopped at 146.(also most high light, aha lets called high light was 4 way from 150) bottom of tank(substrate level)... 68-106 slowed down and finely gave 94(medium lighting)..

not much of a update, but I was able to get some harquin rasboras for $.49 cents each, and I found a c02 regulator with bubble counter, and sealnoid for $15.00 dollars.

more to come with plants added after sunday from the dfwapc meeting.

okay so now I've got to decide if this tank is going or if I should aqua scape it.. I do like how it's 18 wide, what not to fun about it is the length it's only 20 long. high is not to bad at 21. I think I can come up with something..
