I like your idea of removing the hairgrass and letting the HM over. I think it will be more cohesive.

Are there any red plants on the left that aren't showing well in the picture? The red on the right is very strong (and gorgeous), but there doesn't seem to be anything to balance it.

Overall its a beautiful tank and I'd be pleased if mine ever looked that good.

I agree a little with cs_gardener a bit, seems as though the left needs a little bit of color to even out the sides.

I've been thinking allot about the hairgrass. I like it. It looks good in your tank. The lines the moss covered manzanita follow create a wonderful dynamic in the center of the tank. This part of the tank is my favorite. It is stunning in comparison to the rest of the tank.

If you were to move it, I suggest putting it on the left hand side, behind the HC, and in front of what looks to be Bacopa sp. Moving it will remove the dark green you have in the fore ground, and IMO lead to a more monotonous light-green, similarly shaped area. The Hairgrass break it up well...maybe something else could break it up just as easily though - Anubias nana maybe?

Awesome tank, I love it! Great journal, too. Any chance you could post a really large Hi-res shot? I have dual 19" monitors and would love to see this tank stretched across both of them for a true perspective of it.

Guaiac boy,

Nice tank man. I'm planning to set up a 180 in about a month. I have a couple questions for you. How much did you pay for the driftwood? I was wondering if it makes sense to buy online vs lfs? Did they just pick out the pieces for you? Also why is necessary to have a bypass on the UV sterilizer?

Thanks,

Matt
