Default 500 Gallon Set up

OK, with some pics of the new tank I decided just to start a new thread of the setup. I'd like to warn all of you though, progress will be fairly slow
Any imput will be greatly appreciated.
First of here are some pics of the tank in my basement, it has yet to be cleaned...

Dimensions, 96*48*24

A little size comparision next to a 10 gallon from the side

From the front

Looking down the tank

Looking the across the tank

The Overflow, it takes up nearly all 4ft of the back wall

The 3 openings in the top of the tank, each measures 32''*20''

The overflow again

Hope this will do for now, thanks for looking.

That is going to be one sweet tank. Are you building it into a wall somehow?

Not as of now, the plan is to set it up as a penninsula tank with the overflow being against the back wall. and have it jutting a whopping 8' into the basement.

Wow, talk about a sense of depth! It's almost like that tank was ment to be a huge planted tank, only 24" great for lighting, planting and trimming. And deep enough to do some increadble things with.

I can't wait to see how this comes out. You mentioned it will be slow, Honestly that is probably a good thing. Better to go slow and plan with something of this size Good luck!

Very nice depth to work with. Maybe several valleys would help break up the rectangle look and take advantage of the depth.

48 inces wide? Oh the possibilities! Those are sweet dimensions. I soooo want one. Where did you get a tank like that? Most of the 100g+ tanks are just awful dimensions. In fact almost all of them are.

Slowly is a good idea. You really want to do things right the first time. Especially with a tank of that size. I am so looking forward to updates though.
