Thanks Catherine. I also have black phantom tetras in there, along with cardinals. I love all the contrasts. I love all the different schools. These just struck me so I snapped some pxs.

I have to get some pxs of the red long finned danios I bred. Crossed the neon reds with the long finned leopard. The neat thing is that they have the black/silver strip of a regular zebra danio but the red color. They are really striking. The appear darker because of this than the glo danios. I have a leopard glow fish, red that I want to do the cross with but with the long finned reds. I have to wait til they grow. In the mean time I might cross her with the leopard long finned to see if I can get long finned red leopards, since she has spots too. It will be neat if it works!

I think the bottle trap is a good idea. I will try it tonight. We'll see who I get. Who knows - I might trap the rascally yoyo loach!

I'd like to see the danios you've bred, they sound really cool. The nice thing about the long fins is they slow the danios down a bit so it's a tiny bit easier to get a decent picture.

Good luck with the bottle trap! I think it's one of Murphy's laws that you always catch all the fish you don't want first. I know I caught almost all of my guppies before I thought to put the bottle under the driftwood. Then I caught a couple more guppies and then I finally got the krib I was after.

YEAH!! Caught most of the fish!! I was at an LFS today and they had a cute little contraption they called a fish trap. I caught 17, including the breeding pair of Kribs. I have about 8 Krib babies to catch but with the parents gone I won't have this job anymore! I'm still trying to catch my Yoyo loach. He's tricky and very cautious. I might have to leave the baited trap in several nights for him to get used to it before I can get him in there.

BTW, Catherine, I'll take photos of the danios after I get done scaring everyone and let them settle down.

Here is the trap. The string is tied to the trap door. I control it from a distance and just let it down to close, (it's weighted). Then I take the trap to the top of the tank and empty it into a net and presto!- caught!!

Fish going bye-bye

I like that fish trap. It's a good idea to have it squared off since the bottle trap has a definite tendency to roll out of place. My first glance at it I thought you'd stuck a guillotine in your tank. But that really looks like it would work well, especially for bigger fish that wont fit through the opening of a pop bottle and the sneaky smart guys that have figured out the way to get out of the bottle trap. Good luck with catching the yoyo!

I have E Tenelleus pink in front and to the right of the Crypt. Pontederiifolia. I also want to get some Anubias Coffeeolia or maybe some of that variegated anubias people have been talking about. It will get there eventually.

Nikolay, president of the DFWAPC is making a light for me. It will be 5 60" T5HO Geisemann bulbs. He is also putting moonlights in it. I'm extrememly excited. I will be able to have 3 circuits, 2 with 2 bulbs each and 1 separate. That will give me a multitude of options. He is SO TALENTED! He can build anything. He amazes me. He's so nice to do this for me. Even if I had the money I couldn't buy what he's making me.

Can't wait 'til it all comes together.
The eventually tanks are the most fun
The light sounds like a plan.
I like your new car too. I am really liking American cars lately like certain Dodge Charger and the Corvette. The Jeep SRT is sweet! That would be nice matchup.

Brilliant, I must admit I am having fun trying to do small adjustments. The L. Aromatica that I trimmed off about 10 or 15 long stems is beginning to bloom out new heads everywhere. I also had a couple pieces of glosso that did take in the foreground. It's doing it's little spready thing. So cute. I'm watching the Vesuvius. Can't wait 'til that roots well and begins to spread. The E. Tennilus pink I got is growing babies. I keep trying to put the runner in the soil but it continues to float back out. I'll wait till they get bigger and cut them off and plant. I think that will grow better.

I got some anubia coffeefolia and love it. I needed some bigger leaves. I took the anubia nana I had tied on my driftwood and tied it onto my lava rocks. It looks much better down there. I was thinking I'd make anubias trees but they don't like that much light and were getting algae on them. I cleaned all the algae off (bleach dip). My ottos had a little feast on the dead algae.

Thanks about my car. I love it. I come out of a store and just look for the cutest coolest car in the lot.... it's mine! I love the color and the overall look. It's not so run of the mill.

Day whatever - still haven't caught the yoyo.

I just posted some pxs. of my red-longfinned danios, which are growing fast. They were big enough for me to move them to this tank. The px are posted in this thread http://www.aquaticplantcentral.com/f...urprise-2.html

Catherine - Sorry it took me so long. I had trouble getting them to hold still long enough.

I love them! Thanks for posting the pics. I'm actually surprised you got them so fast since danios are just little rockets perpetually shooting around the tank. Not the easiest fish to photograph.
