Re: 125G Rescape
Yikes, what an exhausting project! I know how tired I was after redoing my 38 when I needed to change the substrate, your tank would be infinitely worse. That seine was a brilliant idea, fish are most definitely not cooperative when your trying to catch them. Good luck on the rest of the redo!

Re: 125G Rescape
That sort of net is great for long term use as well. If you have some fish breeding, or otherwise want to partition off part of the tank, I made one with suction cups. I used that rig on a 55, but I'm sure its the same for a larger tank.

Re: 125G Rescape
Nice neat job, there's no way I could keep a tank on such a light colored rug. Hope it all works out for you, that's alot of effort.

Re: 125G Rescape
ALL DONE!! PX posted. I'm all finished. I have a little different layout. I'm still have a few plants on their way. I also need some Ranunculus inundatus. Most of mine melted due to the mud. Hope you like the new "do".
Then regular Amazonia is so much better!! The feel is better. The other was a mud feel. This is a gravel feel. I decided to go with the glosso. I'm not going to use the marsilea or my dwarf chain sword. I have tenneles sp pink that I'm using instead. Some of the plants in the back are too short to see. I'm sure I'll do some tweaking as it grows up. I have BBA that is on my bolbitus. It's dieing. I'd love to add my fish but dare not for a while. I have an HOB filter hanging on the tub with charcoal since there are so many fish in there. Hopefully I'll be able to really crank up the CO2 and that will take care of any algae issues. I'll also use the bacteria start stuff which should help. Gonna use Seachem's stability. I also have charcoal and purigen in the filter to help handle the ammonia spikes that amazonia is famous for.

Re: 125G Rescape
Great Job, TexGal! You've pulled off an incredible task. The new scape looks really good, I'm sure your fish will be happy in their newly re-furbished home.

Re: 125G Rescape
Foofooree- thanks I sure hope it fills in nicely. I have a couple sprigs of Rotala Macrandra I've been babying. I used to have so much of it I sold it. That mud did a job on it. I'm hoping it will bounce back and grow wild now!
Davemonkey. - appreciate the support. It was a job!! So glad it's over. I just have the room clean up to do, towels to wash, bins to put away, table to tear down. I'm on the home stretch now!

Re: 125G Rescape
It must be a relief to have the change-over done, what a major project. The layout looks good and you really managed to get your plants clean. They already look much happier than they did in the last update. I'm looking forward to seeing it fill in. Great job!

Catherine you are so kind. I have BBA EVERYWHERE! I am dosing large quantities of excell and have turned my CO2 WAY UP since I have no fish in there. I can already see some of the BBA has died. I hope it will just fall off since it's dead. We'll see. I'm getting some amano shrimp from Milalic. They ought to help. I think it's gonna be a few weeks before my tank recovers! At least I''m now headed in the right direction. It's crystal clear today. I replace the px above to show the clear water.

Re: 125G Rescape
Hey!
It looks great! Is your rubbermaid fish storage working well? Who do you plan on adding back into this tank when its done?
