And what a beautiful collectoritis tank it is! I can't wait to see what you end up doing with it now!

Give the Blyxa some time to adjust. It took a couple of months to acclimate, but once it settles, it explodes!

Jessie - Thanks so much. I aspire to your blyxa growth! (You should see the pieces I put in my shrimp tank. They are beautiful like yours.) I'm trying really hard not to kill the wonderful plants you grew!

Ok let's try this again. I have the Rotala Magenta - narrow-leaf (red plant), behind that is Stargrass - Heterantera zosterifolia and behind that is Aponogeton ulvaceus. Did I cover it?

I don't see a lot of empty gravel.... Wait til your plants fill in in the front and you'll be doing a little trashing yourself! BTW what's the bright green plant in the middle foreground?
Yep, all points used up for the balance of the year; she's an accountant, so my situation is hopeless!

The foreground plant is wisteria (H. difformis). It works great as a temporary foreground plant; if any vertical growth is kept pruned it creeps along the surface. I am using it there to cover some space until the HC and Marsilea minuta decide whether they are going to grow or not!

You are so funny! Seems like she did pretty good there saving up to get those beauties! Course the other side of that coin is that it's hard to "slip new little purchases in"!

I thought that might be wysteria. Just couldn't see it clearly. That stuff grows fast. I bet you're pruning alot. Pretty tank.

Thanks, but it pales against yours. I could use my high temperature as an excuse, but it is laughable when I see your pics. I will be watching in the "For Sale" forum for your next pruning! Now, if the weather will just warm up!

Well I did it. Sunday was tear down day. Caught all fish, took everything out. I had 12 5gal buckets with water & plants and a 25g tote with fish and plants.

I had pretreated the ADA AquaSoil. It worked great!! I have no issues on 2nd day with Ammonia. I have lost no fish! I will tell you one thing - WHAT A MESS with the AquaSoil. I got the Ammazonia II. It may grow great plants but the clouding is HORRID! I put my substrate in and all hardscape pieces. I put all big root plants in. Then I filled to 1/2 full of water. I began planting background stem plants and couldn't see a thing! I felt like I had to put some water in the tank to hold up the big plants so that I could get around each of them without injuring the leaves. I coudn't do anymore so I went to bed.

This am I got up and it was clearer but still a mess to plant in. I would plant and then wait to clear. Finally I changed 50% of water. That helped tons. Here is what the tank looks like so far:

Left side - Using the magnet a lot just to see to plant.

Right side

I have a long way to go. I still have to plant the foreground and some of the mid ground. I have driftwood branches to go it but they still need to soak as they are floating. I have mosses but they need to grow more. I am liking how it is coming along, but I sure hate the cloudiness. I hope it settles down. I didn't got through this with my little 10 gallon. I think in my 10g I used Amazonia - not Amazonia II. Maybe that is the difference.

BABIES! You won't believe it. When I tore the tank down Sunday I found a new batch of Kribs in there. It must have been the first day the parents let them out because I hadn't seen them before. I didn't want to wait another 6 weeks for them to get big so decided to try to get them and the parents out. I caught the parents first and then used the vacuum siphon and such all around where the babies were into the same bucket I had put the parents. There was so much crud that I couldn't tell if I had the babies or not.

When I was ready to add the fish back I put that bucket in first. I left them in there alone for at least an hour. Because it was so cloudy I never knew if I had the babies or not. This am with things more clear I FOUND THEM! The parents are protecting them! I didn't kill the babies. I'm so happy about that!!!
