Default My Christmas Present!

Here is a picture of my old 180 AGA with my new babies! The tank was originally set up in 2000 and still has the same substrate (Flourite), with only one breakdown and move in 2005. It is obviously a compromise as it has been running at 84 deg for the last couple of years, but the plants that are in it do fine at the high temps. The discus were bought for me by my wife from Gwynnbrook Farms outside of Baltimore and are young adult Tangerine and Tangerine/Pigeon Blood crosses.

I told her she did good!

BTW, wish you had been around 15 years ago (selling this stuff!) when I put my CO2 system together! Would have saved me a small fortune-your prices are great!

Photobucket is better!

The area on the left where the L. glandulosa is now used to be the most beautiful mound of R. wallichii until the SAE became fond of it. They devastated it in very short order. There are now a few sprigs left, but a young Echinodorus 'Rubin' is back there behind the rock with lots of fert tabs underneath and will fill in that area soon (fingers crossed!).

They do stand out, don't they?!!! Two pairs spawned last week, and one pair actually protected the eggs until a few hatched, but all were gone the next day. I may pull one pair out this spring and set up a spawning tank in the garage to see if I can have a baby or two!

If you do get some new discus, can I have the ones you get rid of? They actually look great, havent seen that strain in Wisconsin.
