Re: 220g planted, 1 month old
Here's the new lights. Also anybody have any short foreground that is thicker than glosso or L. Brasilienis? I need a lot of it, my rainbows have devoured almost 10 potted glossostigma, and are currently trimming my microsword. Anyways, heres the light!

Re: 220g planted, 1 month old
Why not put some fast growing stem plants in there. Maybe then the fish would be distracted by those and leave the others alone. You definitely have room for many many more plants. I have planted Marsilea Crenata and it's a little easier to keep planted. That might work for you.

Sorry, I dont know that plant. Ive had sag before and it just took over and choked out everything, so im trying to steer away from that. They dont bother any other plant, I even have/had cabomba in there and they didnt even look at it. I also put some cucumber in with them and they dont bother with it. Although, my dwarf acaras seem to like it.

Take a look at my 125g by clicking on the link under my sig line. The Marsilea Crenata is in the foreground on the right. It's got a common name in my area of 4 leafed clover. You can see that it looks alot like glosso but darker green. All that you see in my tank came from 1 pot I bought at a local LFS.

Nice tank! What is the size in comparison to glosso? Also, Im trying to have at least to foregrounds, one on the left and one on the right. What else do you think I could use?

Thanks! It is almost the same size as the glosso. Sometimes it does shoot up a tall clover shoot. If you don't want that just cut it off. I'm not sure what other foreground plant might work. I have tried HC, glosso, and downoi. I love the downoi.though it does get taller than glosso. I just can't seem to get it to grow for me. I'm not gonna give up. When I get my new lights I will try it again. Look at aquarium online sites at the foreground plants and read up. They usually tell you the difficulty level. You might also want to try some mosses, or riccia. They have to be tied onto grids or something though. Good luck!

Re: 220g planted, 1 month old
Well, Ive added some marsilea and flame moss. The rainbows dont seem as interested in these as the glosso. Heres some update pics!

full tank shot, until I can figure how to get my pics under 100kb without ruining them.
