thats a sweet set up. I've gotta ask though, how are you doing your water changes? i couldnt even imagine doing a 50% water change on something that big. lol the insanity.
keep us updated, it would be nice to see this tank evolve!

Right now I just use a 1" hose, and luckily the tank is pretty close to a window. Im still building my water change system. So far it consists of 2 55g barrels outside. I want to use a standard aerator tank, but cant seem to find one cheap enough. I just used straight well water, and have no problems so far.

That's a great set-up! I like the trim, it really sets the tank off well. Love the rainbows, they look great in there. I'm looking forward to seeing how everything fills in.

He does gnaw on the wood regularly, but I dont mind that. I should have an updated pic of the tank this weekend. Im upgrading to Metal Halide instead of the VHO, and they should be here Friday.
thanx,

What an amazing project! I'm impressed. Did you also build your own lights? Can't wait to see how the plants begin to fill your tank. I bet your fish love all that room.
BTW is that an aussie? I have one. He's so vocal and SOOO smart!

Re: 220g planted, 1 month old
That's one sweet set up. I like your Bolivian Ram. I have a pair in my 65g. They have really fun personalities. I like your planters. I too, would like to hear more about the lights. Any problems with heat?
Thanks for the slide show.
