Default Carole's Container Pond

I just set up this little container pond. I am still working on getting plants for it, and planning to keep blue paradise fish.

Nice Carole......I've been tempted to do this kind of thing too.
I would recommend getting that duck weed out while it will only take five mins.
Maybe that's just me though.........I despise the stuff.

Thanks for the compliment. It's not actually duckweed..at least I don't think. It's bigger than duckweed..it's called red root floater, and it's easy to take out as it multiplies. I just put it there as something to get it going. There is another floater too, it's rare..or sort of. It's a little carnivorous plant called Aldrovanda vesiculosa, or waterwheel plant. I added a 'red children' lotus yesterday. Eventually it will most likely take over the container.

Anyway, I've been thinking for several years of having one of these. My husband has a pond, but it's "his." Don't wanna take away his fun.

I'm anxious to watch yours grow!

There was a person on aquabid that sells Miniature hardy lily Nymphaea 'Helvola' yellow bloom. It's lily pads are only 2 inches. It would be perfect for container pond.
