Awesome project! Must be nice to be able to make your own tank!

I think the hardscape looks great. What are your plans for the right side? Are you going to use a carpeting plant or leave it as open sand?

Thanks! There will be a carpet on the right side, a combination of eleocharis parvula, acicularis and pogostemon helferi.

Algae bloom!
I have not started with dosing yet, just water changes twice a week 35%. In a short period a lot of all kind of algae have shown, CB, brown algae, hair algae, staghorne and BBA. The only one that worries me is CB. I will try to eradicate it without antibiotics. First of all it happened because the aquarium is new and there is a way to small plant mass in it so my first step is to get a lot of stem plants which will be removed later on.

On the pictures are initially stages of algae, the real situation is much worse.
I started with easy carbo and adjust the foto period on 7 hours.
I forgot to say that the lightning is 2x54w t5 and 2x80w t5

Some of the fast growing stem plants are planted which will be removed later. They are growing really fast.
