Looks really nice. You can cut the rhizomes into pieces and they will still grow but I would just nick them 1/3 way through and let them sprout first. Then you can cut them apart and plant them all over. That way the leaves on the end are still supplying nutrients to the rhizomes and the process will happen faster than if all the nutrient have to be supplied from teh rhizome because you have cut it apart and now there isn't any leaf support.

Hi Tex Gal,

Thanks. Improving with time.

I did as you suggested and also read the thread (thks). I will keep you posted of the results..

The coffeefolia overall is doing really well now and putting out new leaves every 5-7 days or more.

I think it is finally maturing...

gerryd once the tank matures its going to look amazing. The transformation is going to be a stark difference from what it looks like now.

I admire your patience but hurry it along already!

Does it look that bad and immature that the difference will be 'stark'??? Little concerned about that comment

Trust me I have been IMPATIENT personally just not on the forums...lol

Thanks much for following along!

About 175 more diptails coming in about 2 weeks. Give them time to acclimate and the tank to mature a bit more and we are getting somewhere..

Still think it looks nicer in person. It is so big that my P&S can't really do it justice. Well, maybe in other hands it could

No not at all, you shouldn't be concerned with my comment. I am comparing your tank to what Jason's tank went through. If you look at the progression of Jason's tank you can see how his tank looked like in its early stages just like your tank now and with time it will mature to a beautiful underground paradise.

I'm sure the aquarium is very capable hands

Hi Dan,

I didn't take your comment to heart, I was just kidding

I don't really see the 'struggles' in any of the pics in the link...all of the shots are beautiful...it would be great to know the time/date progress of the shots in the link..Every 2-3 months? Very nice.

I appreciate the support. Overall I can handle this type of tank. I specifically worked with Tom to ensure plant species that work with lower light levels and a planting that is not too intricate to support.

I have experience with all of the species I have except the coffeefolia which now gives me the most grief, of course

Hopefully over time it will mature as nicely as Jason's did..I am still waiting for the manzy and the ADA to stop leaching. Over the week between water changes, you can see the water turn a nice amber, but would prefer it to be crystal clear to take advantage of the starphire glass all around...

I feel that the tank is doing well overall, despite any issues with a single species of anubias. The fish and shrimp are all healthy, and all other plants are doing quite well. No algae issues to speak of really. A bit of GSA on older anubias leaves is all.

A nice bit of darker green on the manzy is attractive and does not seem to be an issue.

Thanks for following along in two forums...
