Default Lighting smaller tanks

I have a 20 gallon Finnex M-Tank that I plan on converting to a planted tank over the next few weeks. Most of my experience is with reef tanks but I want to learn more about planted tanks. The lighting fixture on the tank has two 36 watt bulbs that I have changed to one 6700K and one 10000K bulb. This works out to 3.6 watts per gallon, but it seems that smaller tanks need more light per gallon than larger tanks. I'm trying to decide if this is low, moderate, or high light for this tank so I can start planning on which plants to order. I've got the DIY CO2 set up finished for the tank and the fertilizers are on the way.

Thanks for your help.

You have medium-high light. The wpg rule breaks down on smaller tanks of 10 gallon. With the wattage you have you should be able to grow almost any plant you want. Pressurized C02 would be better for 3.6wpg; with DIY you will most than likely need to run two bottles.

Thanks for the help. I may go ahead and go with the Pressurized CO2.
