Default Tiny tank lighting

I have a 2.5 gallon acrylic tank that has a 15W incandescent (sp) bulb built into the hood. Can I change this out for a 10W 50/50 mini compact flourescent(Coralife I think) safely?

Thank you,

Nancy

You can safely retrofit it for a small power compact lamp. 50/50 would not be ideal for plantkeeping though. That is more suited to saltwater. Aim for a lamp between 5500k and 6700k. I think 9w pc would fit your tank. You might want to give us dimensions though.
