I'm setting up a 29 gallon and wanted to make sure I will have enough light to grow moderately demanding plants. Currently, I have a 24" Coralife Aqualight (2X14 watts each). I know I need to supplement this, but I want to make sure I won't get any algae problems from over-lighting the tank. I'm considering picking up another Aqualight, but the 30" version (2x18 watts each) which would give me 64 watts of T5 normal output over the tank. ~2.2 wpg. Enough or too much? The tank will have C02 injection.

If you have T5 bulbs with individual reflectors for each bulb, with the present fixture, you may already have moderate light intensity. 2.2 watts per gallon, using T5 bulbs and individual reflectors is probably too much light unless you are willing and able to really follow a rigid dosing and maintenance program.
