Default Increasing light

About a month ago I replaced the bulb on my 10 gallon tank with a 14w AquaGlo bulb and right after I noticed that the baby java ferns started to grow rapidly. Say if I were to add another bulb would it improve things even more (ex:grow plants a lot quicker)?

I'm not too fond of the WPG rule because I've seen ten gallon tanks that would have wattage similar to mine and still be able to grow an abundance of plants that would be considered high light.

Java ferns don't need that much light to glow, so adding another strip will probably not going to change it drastically.

The difference between your old bulb and new Aqua-glo is probably not much with wattage but with the light spectrum. Aqua-glo has specific spectrum that plants use for photosynthesis. Your old bulb may not had the right spectrum hence Java fern didn't glow too well.

adding another bulb means additional need for nutrients and growth.

I forgot to mention that I also have some ludwigia repens and will be adding rotala rotundifolia.
