Default Full Spectrum Lighting

Hi all,

I am searching for a different method of lighting my aquarium. i have a native australian setup at the moment and moving into a bigger tank which at the moment just has a boring old fluoro. i like the idea of halogen downlights and the concept of 'full spectrum bulbs' perhaps with a filter to help reduce green light and hence algae growth. at only 15-20W they are quite energy efficient as well compared to hallides etc.

i was wondering if anyone has had any experience with full spectrum lighting and if it is successful/plausible. i am not interested in a show tank or anything like that, just for home. at the moment i get tuns and tuns of plant growth with a fluoro.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

PS-this forum and site is GREAT!!
