Default Biotope for Rotala indica??

Ok..not MY local biotope, but it is local for someone


I have got a very general idea of Rotala indica ranges....Does anyone know of more specific info for a rotala indica biotope? ...might be interesting for the APC contest

Try http://plants.usda.gov/index.html for information. It looks like it was introduced to the us and can be found in Luisiana and California.

I found that is an introduction, not where it originally came from. I get south east aisia and india...about as specific as I can get.

Gomer, I saw pictures of R. rotundifolia growing in a small pond in the northern part of Vietnam. There were also some Rasboras in the pond, although I dont' know which species.

in Singapore, I have seen RR growing in sandy forest streams (dappled sunlight) with moderate current. The plants are a rich red and grow submerged by the bank (about a foot deep) in thick clusters, interspersed with tall hairgrass.
