Lamp Aquarium - 1.2 gal

About 3 months old, finally starting to get the algae under control. Male betta splendens, added 2 grass shrimp with him but they turned into a houswarming snack. Java fern, java moss on log, spiral valisneria; aponogeton has sent up floating leaves and flower spikes twice now. Airpump only, no filtration.

Hey there, been reading this forum for a while and I finally got registered. Check out my first attempt at an "Iwagumi" style Nano Tank.

I discovered the world of aquascaping in San Francisco, at the Aqua Forest Aquarium store. Quite an amazing setup they have going. Definitely worth checking out.

Setup:

4 Gallon Finnex Tank Kit
(This kit comes with a 26 watt actinic bulb. Is that too much light for a 4 gallon?

Stones/ from a local Bonsai Tree store, looks like Seiryu..not sure

Plants/ from AFA, HC and some type of Swords

Substrate/ ADA Super Sand Special and Amazonia

CO2/ Flourish Excel

And now for some early pics:

Tank after Day 1 //

Hey ramskip, not sure about the wattage over the 4g but the spectrum of the actinic is probably not gonna produce the results you want. Those bulbs are usually more suitable for SW tanks FW plants like less blue in the light spectrum. Good luck and I hope this helps. PS hope you cleaned those Bonsai shop stones first.
