Default 3gal eclipse

nothing special here, this tank was setup to grow out some pellia, and different mosses. I recently added 11 celestial pearl danios, hence the large ball of peacock moss. I'll be rescaping soon, and will be removing most of the danios.

3 gal eclipse
6w light it came with
eco complete substrate, some ada aquasoil amazonia
excel, and dry dosing once a week.

11 celestial pearl danios
peacock moss
pheonix moss
flame moss
pellia
ludwigia senegalensis

It would make a nice little shrimp setup.

I tried a similar set up with a 2.5 gallon betta tank, with moss tied to rocks but it has been taken over by Blue-Green algae (probably because of direct sunlight), Yours in the other hand, seems to be going on the right direction.

Please let us know when you rescape it. it seems like you got some nice material there...

Thanks, I need to do something about light. I'd like to brighten it up a bit. As soon as I move the fish I'll post updates. I'm hoping the senegalensis takes hold. I got it in pretty poor shape. So far it's looking better.

did a total rescape on this little gem. I know, how original right? I haven't done iwagumi before so here goes...

I added some straggler stargrass stems left over from my 28 and what's left of the elatine triandra that survived. made a moss wal out of peacock moss. It's doing better than I thought so far... This tank is really gonna take a long time to come around.

I retrofitted a small socket from one of my incandescent hoods and put two 15w pc spiral bulbs in it.

Hi chadly.

How did you manage to tie the Pellia in your fist setup ? I have some and haven't decided how to put it in a rock/wood. Can it be done like any moss/riccia ? I alway tie them with nylon thread, but I'm afraid to damage the Pellia.

About the second layout, maybe some manzanita slim sticks would complete the scape nicely.

Cheers.

I bought a brown hairnet from the local beauty supply store, cut it to fit, twisted and tied the ends together. The Pelia took a while to take off because It was relatively low tech, low fert. Even though the holes in the hairnet are small, the pellia is adaptable and basically "oozes" thru the holes.

I will look for brown (or dark green perhaps) hairnet, I have some white net I used for riccia a while ago, but the color does not help with aesthetics, lol.

Thanks for the info chadly.
