I am new here, and would like to start a 10 gal. I really like the HC, and was wonder how I would go about in making a tank with just that, or something similar . Can someone guide me and tell me what is needed? I read the faqs and other tidbits of info and was wondering if they still apply to nano sized tanks (stuff like fertilizer and CO2).

Good sub. like ADA aqua soil are easier. You need CO2. 10g fish tank you can try 36w power compact bulb 6500k in lighting and you should be okay.

Welcome to APC. Sounds like an Iwagumi style layout.

You can probably do it only with HC, but you need to make use of some rocks/wood to give the tank some depth. It is quite difficult in a 10g tank.
