Another quick update.

The bacopa caroliniana is doing really great and getting nice and pink, especially in the mornings. It's been reluctant to branch off, instead just growing taller and taller. I've been growing out the cuttings in another tank to add back later.

Took another shot for something else today in the daylight. Thought I'd post it since it look way better from this angle and less weirdly green in the different lighting. ;p

Hello all,

I still find it amazing that after all these years, my little treatise on DIY Co2 is still referred to. I may have to update it!!!

I am overjoyed that people have had success using the suggestions I made in that article. This is a great hobby and a beautiful creative process. Have fun!

And this always was a great forum for learning all the facets that make this hobby rewarding and enjoyable.

Update! I can believe how much it's changed. I replaced the crypt parva with micro sword and moved the two aponogetons that had been struggling behind the vase to the right. It's funny now because now they are obscured by the MS. lol

I'm leaving on a trip tomorrow that will have me away from home for about a week. I won't be able to dose Excel during that time, so hopefully I won't have any major meltdowns because of it. I fear that the small amount of hair algae I have right now will go wild in the absence of Excel's algaecide properties. I'll probably work on getting some snails if that happens.

Anyway, here's what it looks like now so I can compare.

Oh, and my brother is working on building me a base for the light fixtures so I can run this tank rimless. That should solve the water-leaking-behind-the-rim-and-leaving-ugly-mineral-deposits issue. I'm also working on getting a bunch more crypt parva to fill in all the dead spaces in the substrate. They seem to be handling their lower light location quite well. It's going to look so pretty.

Quick update.

Got some spike tail Malaysian trumpet snails for algae control.

And a shot of good 'ol Helmut, still doing great.
