Ciao Topete, the approximate cost of light is 60, 65 euro + 15 euro of led driver (700 mA)

Ciao guys,
we calculate the consumption of the led light.

The image shows the working point of an LED (extract from Cree XP-G led datasheet). Each LED is powered by a constant current of 700mA. With this current, the voltage across an LED is equal (approximately) to 3.2 Volt.

The power consumed by each LED is given by:
P = I(current) x V(voltage) = 0.7(Ampere) x 3.2(Volt) = 2.24 Watt

The total power consumed by light is only:
Ptot = P x num.leds = 2.24 x 5 = 11.5 Watt

I'm very happy. I can say that the "led" experiment is successful!!

Your tank looks great. I've been searching for someone using LEDs on a nano planted tank. Not many out there. I also wanted to see what LEDs to use on a planted tank. I was worried XPGs you look to yellow and was out the colors of the fish, man was I wrong. I'm looking to setup a nano planted tank 10"x9"x9"H. Based on your tank I'm thinking of using 3 XPGs. Though I want to use 41deg. lenses like I'm using on my reef tank. Is there a reason why you used a 700mA driver instead of a 1000mA which is what I'm using on my XPGs.
