This is an amazing little tank. I have the same tank...just like you, got rid of all the accessories. Maybe we can be Fluval Chi buddies?

Can we see your light? My friend has a chi and has no idea what to do with it. I already sent him a pic for some inspiration. The stock filter is crap and u have to remove the whole top unit to even get any decent light? Am I right? I have been trying to give him some feedback he's lost with this tank and he is extremely jealous of my ebi! Haha but yours is just like a smaller ebi! Truly a beautiful tank! Congrats.

forgive me i havent been very active as i had shut this tank down. It got infested with hydras some how (i prob introduced it via other tanks i had) so i nuked it...

This is what the tank looked like before i nuked it with potassium permanganate

The lighting was a coralife 18 watt fixture (x2 9w)

it was one of the first generation fixtures by coralife you cant find them anymore...the newer ones SUCK! and i dont recommend anyone buying it. Its overly priced (i think avg 40-50 bucks) and it gets HOT. im talking about TOO hot to touch/hold for over 2 seconds. I know because i own one. Im not bashing coralife because i am a huge fan of their fixtures and own many of them. I just dont like what they did with the newer generation of 18 watt fixture...i can see my ballast going out real fast.

Hope that helped if your still following up :P

Key to this tank is 9-18 watts of lighting, a nice diy co2 (works best cause its small setup, i find diy can be a pain for bigger tanks) and a nice stable dosing regime (i had micro spoons which didnt break the bank on ferts at all)
