Default NASH News Digest

Hello to all:
NASH wants to take this moment to thank everyone for showing up. It was really good to see you guys. The meeting was great! Another round of applause goes to ADG for hosting our meetings Thank you, Mike and Jeff! As promised, below is the link to the German website that has the CO2 table:
http://www.dennerle.de/HG07UG07.htm

As a reminder, it is important to check your KH and pH every now and then so as to better adjust your CO2 input, which will in effect determine where your pH should be. So basically, first measure your KH. Then use the cursor on the table to pin-point where your supposedly CO2-rich zone should be(green area). Once you figure that out, just adjust your CO2 rate to get the desired pH(wherever the green zone lies for you). It generally will take you about 1 day because of the whole pH fluctuation during the lights-on and lights-off periods. Therefore, the best time to get an accurate reading is when your plants are photosynthesizing at their max. rate, which is around 4-6 hours after you turn on the light(or when you see active pearlings on the plant leaves). Good luck and have fun!

Secondly, as Luis has said, one of our long-time members, Mr.Nori, will be going back to Japan. So we are thinking of throwing a get-together party for him. Luis has volunteered his home to host the party. We will keep you guys updated as more details are being planned out. The trip to Luis' house will also be a blast because y'all KNOW you will get to see his personal set-ups up and close, and can ask him whatever questions you may have. Just another great opportunity to learn more about planted tanks first-hand. Any assistance in planning the party will be much appreciated!

Finally, as the forum is getting underway, we will begin to be more serious about coming up with a logo. Dan has volunteered to designing a few concepts, but anyone else with other ideas are also welcome to chime in. Feel free to call or e-mail any of the officers if you have any suggestions/ideas. Speaking of Mr.Dan, he was asking if anyone would be interested in getting some Amano shrimps as well as some fish. This is a great opportunity to get your hands on those critters at a bargain price. So don't miss it, if these are what you have been looking for but shriek at the high price from the LFS's.

Best wishes,
NASH Team

PS:Kevin, for some reason the e-mail couldn't get through. If others are having a similar issue, maybe you can check to see if your mailbox has become full. Thank you so much
