Default ~April Meeting Pictures~

NASH wants to thank everyone for coming to the April's meeting/party. It was meant to be rather informal because our main goal was to give one of our long time members, Mr.Nori, a farewell party before he moves back to Japan. We would also like to thank our president, Luis, and his family for hosting the event. In the mean time, enjoy these pictures. I know they don't do the real tanks any justice so please accept my apologies

I believe Luis said this tank has been set up for just 4 weeks.....

Left side view.....

Right side view.....

Close-up.....

More close-up.....

The tank in upstair.....notice the low light setting, hence the dimmed look

Close-up.....

A glimpse of two of its inhabitants.....

These are beeYOUtiful pictures. Love the cyperus. Do you have to trim the stem plants, and so they have to regrow the red tipped ends?

The stem plants have to be trimmed almost every 8 to 10 days. I have not completely "shape" the stem plants groups since I just set this tank up 4 weeks ago; as the tank matures I will start working on them.
The substrate is Power sand special Amazonia tourmaline BC and penac W fertilization is ECA, Step 1 and birgthy K at the moment. The plants get the red coloration as soon as they get closer to the surface. Lighting is 330 watts of VHO.
Luis

Luis, I am envious of your C. helferi! When I had mine, it was an algae magnet. How do you do it?

I never had any problems with the plant other than constantly removing the occasional old and yellow leaf. I have no secrets I really don't fertilize that often, particularly on this set up which only have 100 watts of light.
The tank holds 65 US gallon and fertilization is rather lean.

Beautiful tanks and great photos.

Luis what the tank dimensions of the first tank?
The sand in the foreground is that ADA stuff?
Where did you get that filter output?
And finally, The stones use, are those locally collected?
Sorry for all the questions. I just want to be like you!!!...LOL

Very nice Luis,

as usual I guess
Beautiful fish also.

Is that a rotala macranda sp in the first tank?
I think I have the same plant but I can't get it from stunting every sow often.

Pieter
