Thumbs up Re: Hello

With low tech, the journey is going to be a slow winding road. With hi-tech, it's like having a hummer going down that road to happy land in no time haha.

Agreed, I need to experience both to really appreciate both. I have seen some low-tech iwagumis but not any pure NPT iwagumis. I remember discussing ways to make it doable w/ ppl in the El Natural section a while back. Someone supposedly tried it but I haven't heard from him lately.

True enough, Thanh. My minuta groundcover is taking forever to fill in lol. I'm thinkin that I should've stuck w/ glosso

12.6 and 4th, Lakers going dooooooooown!!!
Sorry, Thanh, but I always go for the underdog.....well, Boston is not really an underdogLOL:P But like what you always do to Luis with futball not being 'real' football, I just had to get you on this one

Series at 2-0........2 more games to go:P

On the note of high vs low tech, I kindda have to go with ItsDubC. I know you guys are speaking from experience and therefore do not want him to go thru the same arduous journey as you did. But on the other hand, perhaps we have all forgotten what it was like before all these new gears came out. We used to rely on all the'ghetto' stuff and it was working, albeit less efficiently and more slowly; we still able to grow stuff. I guess my point is, while we are enjoying all the new high tech stuff, let's not forget our aquatic roots. To me, the journey is as important as the destination, if not more so. Just my food for thought, since I am also a fairly recent experienced newbie. I can understand the take on both side of reasonings.

Man, I wanted the Lakers to pull out the win so bad after that huge comeback in the 4th. I think it'll be funny if the Lakers win the whole thing considering how much $$$ the Celtics spent on their all-star cast. Paul Pierce deserves to win a championship tho.

Anyway, I appreciate what you've said Paul. The low-tech and NPT scene has taught me a lot about or at least made me aware of aspects of aquariums that I don't really see discussed in high-tech forums too much, like plant allelopathy and natural substrates. My next step is to get into the high-tech side so I can learn more about things like regulating co2 levels and fertilization.

One of the coolest things I found about APC is the Aquascaping Contest link along the top of the site. If you click on "view entries", you will see some really nice tanks. But what I like most is that you can filter for "Aquariums Without CO2 Supplementation". A lot of these entries might not look as nice as ones w/ co2 setups, but I still have a ton of respect for the ppl who created these tanks.
