Default Unexpected at PETCO

I was at Petco yesterday to get a long flexible brush. Much to my suprise, I saw an the full line of Ehiem Ecco canisters at prices comparable to on-line, home brew CO2 kits and not one but TWO different brands of planted tank substrates - Eco Complete ($19.99) and several versions of Activeflora ($24.99)! Never heard of the later, but was able to google it.

FYI at FG there was a sale last week on cherry shrimp 10/$10, they guy at the store said they got 1200 of them in

That reminds me of the time I went to PetsMart on Wallisville Rd and actually saw REAL aquatic plants that were HEALTHY. Of coarse, the last time I visited, it was not the same story, but at least they got it right 1 time.

How funny that you mention Petco and Petsmart. There was a time when I assumed that they were the go-to place for everything aquarium related, and now, looking at the various forums, especially the for sale or trade forums, I can't imagine ever stepping foot into one again.

BTW - the countdown has begun on the 125 NPT. I'll have the soil in there by Friday, the sand substrate and plants will start going in next week, and from there it's just a matter of time. I have to admit though that the plants will take a while because I won't really have the bulk of them and the driftwood for another week or two.

At Petsmart this weekend - Full line of the new Eheim Ecco "Pro" canister filters! http://www.eheim.de/eheim/inhalte/in...ail_32311_ehen

I talked myself out of it because I already had the Ecco 2234 and 2236 - and why the heck would I need another canister, right? Just like why the heck do I have 3 fish tanks in the house.

When I returned Sunday someone had already bought the 200!

Mudboots, APC is a great place to get plants!

Thanks for the find, Fil I really like this filter because I saw how it was running in Bush's set up. Very nice in my opinion, on a mini M, better than 2211 or 2213.

Fil, which location was this ? I have a couple of PETCO gift cards I am itching to spend. But have been putting it off as there is nothing worth spending there.
