Do you think you have enough light in there?

I've always enjoyed that aquascape Luis. The gradient of colors from the bright green Glossostigma to the reddish tops of the Ammania/Nesea is fabulous. How're you planning on replanting it?

Regards,
Phil

Phil the foreground is HC and the plants are Proserpinaca palustris and Pogostemon stellata "broad leaf" and a little of nanjanshean.
I did replants the tank already with out disturbing the layout. The plants are for the most part the same just placed in different spots just so it looks different the foreground is Ranalisma rostrata and I am just waiting to take a decent picture and Post it here.
Regards,
Luis

Luis,

Have you grown P. palustris for an extended time? I can collect it wild here, but the times I have tried it, it seemed to grow for a while, albeit slowly, then eventually die. I have heard reports of others having trouble maintaining it for a prolongued time. I think it's a fairly unique looking plant.

What I have was collected locally with Claus Christensen and the AGA Team back in 2001 here in Houston and no problems so far. I know Karen and Charlene took some back home too, so I am going to find out how is it doing for them.
I remember that Claus said; this plants did OK in hard water and I have nothing but! so he was and still right!
Regards,
Navarro

Here are the details of what I did to refresh this design.
1 The filter was turned off
2 all plants with the exception of the Bolbitis where removed rinsed clean and trimmed to equal length.
3 The substrate was vacuum concentrating in the hard to reach spots.
4 After vacuuming the water level dropped to less than one third of the tank.
5 Ranalisma rostrata was planted in the foreground and the same stem plants in a different order in the back.
6 The tank was refilled with dechlorinated water, filter and Co2 turned back on.
7 The whole proses took about 1 hour for such small tank. The results are fast the plants where allowed to grow and trimmed for the first time to shape the aquascape. Yet a second trimming will be needed in order to have a more dense composition.
It is important no to disturb the system too much just so the plants are not stressed in excess.
This was also a good opportunity to remove and add different fish about 20 simulans tetras and 10 loreto tetras where added to the new design.
This option allow me to change the look of the tank without having to redo the tank.
The pictures I will post are not the final work. it will be the tank after the second trimming.
regards,
Luis
