Well after I added some Alternanthera reineckii to my tank and my 4 clown loaches nearly tore it to shreds, they moved on to my Hydrocotyle leucocephala which they previously hadn't touched and now I'm wondering: will I need to rethink my fish stock?

What are other people's experiences with fish and what eats plants and what doesn't?

I currently have:

4 small clown loaches
2 small Boesmani Rainbows
3 Bala Sharks (2.5")
2 Gold Gouramis (3")
1 Pleco
15 Ghost Shrimp

I love the loaches and don't want to give them away (if I even can). Is there anything I can do to stop them eating my plants? Has anyone kept clown loaches in a planted tank successfully?

I've also heard Bosemani's and some other Rainbows may or may not eat plants. Is this true?

Thanks!
DJK

ive heard of clown loaches uprooting plants like its going out of style, but not eating them. especially if it starts all of a sudden and out of no-where. the rainbows make excellent planted tank inhabitants.
